Danish Defence Attaché to Germany

Brigadier General Henius joined his current post as Danish defence attaché to Germany in August 2020. He graduated from the Royal Danish Military Academy in 1988 and attended the General Staff Course at the Royal Danish Defence College 1996-97. As a lieutenant colonel, he attended the Senior Course at the NATO Defence College in Rome 2007-08, specialising in politico-strategy. Brigadier General Henius has enjoyed a full operational career, including command posts at all levels up until deputy commander of a multinational brigade. He also worked for several years at the politico-strategic level, including 4 years as faculty adviser at the NATO Defense College in Rome, almost two years as a military adviser for the Force Commander of UN’s multidimensional mission in Mali (MINUSMA) as well as several years in the Defence Command Denmark. He also held the post as Director of the Master of Military Studies programme at the Royal Danish Defence College. His 7 operational deployments include Bosnia-Hercegovina, twice in Iraq, twice in Kosovo and twice in Mali.
