Judith Gerlach is the Bavarian Minister of State for Digital Affairs. She has headed the ministry since it was founded in November 2018. As the first female digital minister in Germany, Gerlach controls and monitors the expansion of digital services for citizens and companies. The Minister also represents Bavaria in dealings with the federal government, for example in the IT Planning Council. Gerlach is committed to a digital policy that is open to technology and focuses on the interests of citizens. As the youngest member of the cabinet at just 37 years of age, the Minister of State is committed to the interests of the younger generation. It was included in the “Top 40 under 40” by the leading German business magazine Capital.
