Director of the ifo Center for Industrial Economics and New Technologies
Prof. Dr. Oliver Falck is a Professor of Economics, specializing in Empirical Innovation Economics, at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich and heads the Center for Industrial Organization and New Technologies at the Munich-based ifo Institute. He is also the Program Director of the CESifo Research Network, the world’s second-largest network of economists.
He earned his doctorate at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg and completed his habilitation at LMU Munich. Oliver Falck has published in leading economic journals and is a co-editor of the bestseller “Handbook of Research on Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. He regularly advises state and federal ministries, the European Commission, associations, and companies on innovation policy issues and the impacts of digitalization.
