Wolfgang Grupp is the CEO and owner of TRIGEMA, one of the largest manufacturers of sportswear and leisurewear in Germany. Under his leadership, TRIGEMA has become a pioneer in sustainability and “Made in Germany” production.
Born in 1942, Grupp joined the family business after his studies and took over as sole managing director in 1972. Since then, he has continuously developed the company. Grupp is known for his commitment to the German production site and his belief that local quality production is the key to success.
While the number of employees in the textile and clothing industry in Germany has been reduced from 850,000 in 1970 to almost 200,000, TRIGEMA not only maintained jobs during this period but also created an additional 450 jobs in the last 20 years alone.
Outside of business, he is also known for his straightforward opinions and philanthropic efforts. Grupp is a sought-after speaker and expert in the fields of business management, production, and sustainability.
